Salesforce just announced AI agents built directly into their small business tools.
Your team probably won't use those either — unless you change one thing first.
Here's what nobody tells you after that $200/month AI tool collects dust: the problem was never the tool. It was that nobody defined the one job it was supposed to do.
AI doesn't fail because the technology is bad. It fails because it gets handed to a team with no clear problem to solve. That's not a tech issue. That's a rollout issue.
Salesforce embedding AI into existing workflows is actually good news for you. It means the tool comes to where your people already work, instead of asking them to go somewhere new.
Before you evaluate any AI feature, write down this sentence: "I need AI to do X so that Y stops taking Z hours per week."
If you can fill in that blank specifically, you have a first project. If you can't, no tool — Salesforce or otherwise — will stick.
That one sentence is where your first win starts. Not with a demo. Not with a consultant pitch.
What's the one repetitive task in your business that you keep saying "there has to be a better way" about?
That's probably your answer.
