You bought the AI tool. Nobody used it. $200/month gone.
That's not your fault. That's what happens when vendors sell the sizzle and skip the substance.
Here's something they definitely didn't mention before you signed up:
Most AI tools are trained on data of unclear origin. Your business information — customer data, internal documents, financial records — may be processed overseas with little transparency about how it's used or stored.
This isn't meant to scare you. It's meant to explain why your gut hesitation about AI has always been valid.
The real problem isn't that you're behind on AI. It's that no one gave you the right questions to ask before buying anything.
Questions like: Where does my data go? Who can access it? What happens if I cancel?
One simple rule before your next AI investment: ask the vendor exactly where your company data is stored and processed. If they can't answer in plain English within 60 seconds, that's your answer.
You don't need to understand the technology. You just need to know the right questions. That alone puts you ahead of most business owners in the room.
What's the one thing an AI vendor told you that turned out to be completely different in practice?
