Universities in Uganda are having better AI adoption conversations than most businesses in North America.
Let that sink in.
If you've ever said "we bought that AI tool but nobody uses it," you're not alone — and you're not tech-stupid. You were handed a solution before anyone identified the actual problem. That's a vendor failure, not yours.
Here's what jumped out at me from a recent Oracle education summit in Uganda. Faculty weren't debating which AI tool to buy. They were mapping specific classroom problems first, then finding tools to match. Problem before product. Simple sequence, massive difference in outcomes.
Most businesses do this backwards. They buy the tool, then hunt for a use case. That's why adoption dies and subscriptions get quietly cancelled.
The one thing you can do this week: write down three tasks your team repeats daily that eat 30+ minutes. Don't Google any AI tools yet. Just the list. That list becomes your filter. Every AI pitch you hear from this point forward either solves something on that list or gets ignored.
That single shift moves you from overwhelmed buyer to informed decision-maker.
What's the one repetitive task in your business you wish someone else could handle?
