Your AI tool isn't failing because your team is resistant. It's failing because nobody defined what "working" actually looks like.
We've all seen it. The $200/month subscription that quietly dies because success was never measured. You're not tech-stupid — you were sold a tool without a scorecard.
Harvard Business Review just confirmed what I've seen across hundreds of implementations: the businesses winning with AI aren't using fancier tools. They're tracking a small number of specific metrics, reviewed monthly, at each layer of their operation — the AI itself, the people using it, and the combined output together.
That's the piece most vendors skip. They sell you the tool and disappear. Nobody helps you define what a good month actually looks like.
Here's your starting point: before your next AI implementation, write down three numbers you'll check in 30 days. Time saved. Errors reduced. Revenue touched. If you can't name them before you start, pause.
Measurement isn't complicated. It's just rarely included in what you were sold.
What metric would have changed your last AI decision — if you'd known to track it from day one?
