Google just trained 150+ security professionals on AI in a single event. Not by buying them software. By teaching them how to use it first.
That's the part nobody talks about.
You've probably been there — the tool gets purchased, the login gets shared, and six months later it's a line item nobody mentions in the budget meeting. Not because the tool was bad. Because the team never really learned it.
Here's what Google figured out that most vendors won't tell you: adoption comes before ROI. The companies winning with AI right now aren't buying the most sophisticated tools. They're picking one use case, training their people properly on it, and actually measuring what changed.
That's a completely different approach than "here's your login, good luck."
The practical takeaway for you this week: before evaluating any AI tool, ask the vendor one question — "What does your onboarding look like for a team of five non-technical people?" If they stumble, walk away. The tool isn't the investment. The working habit is.
That one question has saved my clients more wasted budget than any feature comparison ever did.
What's your experience been — did the training ever actually come with the tool you bought, or were you mostly left to figure it out alone?
