You didn't buy a bad AI tool. You bought one that couldn't prove it was right.
That's the real reason nobody on your team uses it. Not laziness. Not resistance to change. They couldn't verify the output — so they didn't trust it — so they went back to what they knew.
Thomson Reuters just published their standard for what they call "high-stakes AI." The core idea is simple: any AI touching real business decisions must produce outputs your team can check, trace, and stand behind.
That's the test most vendors never mention. Not "can it generate an answer?" but "can your team verify that answer before acting on it?"
This reframes how you evaluate any AI tool. Before you buy, ask one question: "How does my team confirm this output is accurate?" If the vendor stumbles on that answer, walk away.
Start there. Audit the one AI tool you already have. Ask your team why they stopped using it. Nine times out of ten, the answer is trust, not training.
That's a fixable problem — and it costs nothing to diagnose.
What's the real reason your team stopped using the last AI tool you rolled out?
