It's failing because nobody anchored it to anything real inside your business.
A Forbes piece on enterprise AI made something click for me. The companies getting actual ROI aren't buying the flashiest tools. They're asking one question first: what knowledge does this AI have access to, and is that knowledge trustworthy?
Most AI implementations skip that question entirely. A tool gets purchased, nobody feeds it the right information, and it spits out generic answers your team ignores. That's not an AI problem. That's a foundation problem.
The fix isn't a new tool. It's pointing your existing AI at one specific, well-documented process your team already trusts — an FAQ, a sales script, a standard operating procedure. Give it grounded information. Watch it return grounded answers.
Start here: pick one internal document your team references weekly. One. Ask your AI tool to answer questions based only on that document. Run it for two weeks. That's your proof of concept — low cost, low risk, no system rebuilding.
What happened when your team actually tried to use the AI tool you purchased — did anyone even know what to ask it?
